The sea leaves a white line on a black coat. We built a season around it.
Salt Line started on a wet February walk along the Morib shore. By the car, my wool coat had a pale, uneven tide mark along the hem. It was the best thing on the coat. I wanted clothes that keep a record like that: of weather, of walking, of the person inside them.
So the collection is mostly black, bone and one taupe. The colour lives in the surface: linen washed in brine until it softens, cotton bonded to a thin wool so it holds a line, and silk faille that shows every fold you give it.
Every piece was cut in our Kuala Lumpur studio and sampled at least three times. Twenty-two of the 36 looks shown in Paris go into production. Twelve of those are here, in the order they were walked.
Wear them hard. Salt-washed pieces only look better after a year, and our studio repairs anything we make, for as long as you own it.

Each hem is brushed with brine by hand and left to dry under the lights, so the line is fresh.

Capsule collaboration
SAERN with Ong Mei Suan, ceramicist, Ipoh.
Mei Suan fires her work with rock salt thrown into the kiln at 1,280°C. The salt melts into a glaze that pools and pits in its own way, the same accident our brine-washed linen makes. She made four small objects for the collection, in 700 pieces in total, over nine firings.

Do I need an account to watch the livestream?
No. The stream plays on this page for anyone, on phone or desktop. Saving a seat only adds a reminder and the replay.
How does sizing work?
Tops come in XS to XL, tailoring in European sizes 34 to 44. Each piece has a size chart with garment measurements in centimetres, and our studio will advise by email or video call.
When will my pre-order arrive?
Circle pre-orders ship between 30 November and 11 December. Public drop orders ship from 14 December. We email a tracking link the day your piece leaves the studio.
What does delivery cost?
Free within Malaysia (2 to 4 working days). Worldwide delivery by courier is RM 60 and takes 3 to 5 working days. Duties are shown at checkout, so nothing is due on arrival.
Can I return a piece?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, unworn and with the tag. Made-to-order sizes can be exchanged for another size but not refunded.
Will the salt line wash out?
It softens, it does not disappear. Hand wash cold or dry clean. If you want it brighter, our studio re-brushes hems for free during the first year.
Is Saern Circle really free?
Yes. It is an email list with early access, not a paid membership. You can leave with one click at the bottom of any email.
